Edging Installation (Super Mighty Edge)

Super Mighty Edge is installed using standard sod staples, secured to top and bottom tabs. Not all tabs need to be secured, as they can be alternated every two or three tabs. Depending on soil conditions, a staple may be difficult to drive. In those cases, you can secure an adjacent tab.

Prior to securing the product, the 7-foot sections need to be joined togther. This is done by drilling two matching holes into each section end and riveting together. It is recommended that sections be overlaped 2 inches before riveting. This process can be done in place or in an "assembly line" format. If installing in multiple bunkers at a time, some efficiencies are gained by setting up a work area to streamline or automate motions.

Additional tabs or those that overlap should be trimmed, leaving a single tab. Trimming can be performed using standard tin snips.

Preparing the bunker edge for Super Mighty Edge involves the establishment of a 6-inch profile or cut. This matches the profile of the product and will ensure smooth installation. If renovating a bunker, you should consider cutting a row of turf off the bunker edge. The soil should be firm and compacted.

To install Super Mighty Edge, you'll need a few basic tools -- rivets and rivet gun, cordless drill, drill bit (matching the size of the rivet), tin snips, sod staples, rubber mallet.
